Somatics and trauma training have taught me that everything we eat (and do) has a purpose. It meets a deep need. Looking at nutrition through a relational, needs-based lens invites much more curiosity and understanding to each individual I get to teach. Instead of saying "Stop eating sugar," I say "Let's feel the parts of you that find comfort in the sugar.” Integrating embodied parts work like this gives us a more holistic approach to understanding and transforming our food choices.

1: How Starches, Refined Carbs, and Sugars Create Adrenaline & Insulin
This first class will teach you about starches, carbohydrates, and sugars — and how they all do a similar thing: turn into glucose. Some quicker than others. Adrenaline and insulin are two hormones that play a major role in stress and trauma recovery. Learning the link between glucose and these two hormones will equip you with new knowledge for how to better care for your body after, or during, stress and trauma.
2: The Unmet Needs & Emotional Roots Of Comfort EatingIt's not enough to just eliminate or avoid a food. I don't even believe in that, nor do I want to demonize any foods or habits. We need to understand the roots of our carb and sugar dependence so we know what needs are truly being met by these foods. Because, without this, removing the foods almost removes a need being met which is why we crash on diets.
3: Converting Processed Cravings Into Whole Food SnacksLearning how to eat a cookie instead of never eating a cookie is a world of difference. I will be teaching you how to better eat carbohydrates and sweets so they don't stress out your body with as much adrenaline or insulin. In addition, I'll teach you how to use a conversion chart of mine (which you'll get with this course) so you can learn how to use your food cravings to lead you back to a more whole version of that same food.
