Free Live Class:

The Connection Between Weight & Trauma

What is Food Therapy?

Food Therapy is my upcoming book that explores how nutrition and somatic practices can support trauma and stress recovery, emotional balance, and nervous system regulation.

From cravings to chronic stress to attention and focus, the way we eat is deeply tied to how we feel and function.

This live session:

On January 13th, I’ll guide a 60-minute class focused on the connection between weight and trauma. Join me for an exploration of human bodies at every size and how trauma has impacted our bodies through a somatic lens.

This is not about weight loss. This is not about restrictive eating. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach to health and wellness.

Relating to food in a different way. Relating to our bodies in a different way. Understanding our strategies around eating, why we crave the foods we do, and how to listen to what our bodies need… that’s what we’ll be diving into during this session.

I’m familiar with emotional eating from childhood — binge eating in particular — and there’s a freedom that comes from understanding the what and why behind our food decisions. It’s not about less weight, more weight, or finding the perfect diet. It’s what your body feels like when it’s nourished and balanced.

As a nutritionist and somatic therapist, I’ve witnessed the connection between weight and trauma affecting almost everyone. From no appetite or hunger cues, to overeating and purging, to fad diets and skipping meals, to can’t gain weight versus can’t lose weight — being in balance with our food and our bodies isn’t something that humans easily do. But with the right tools and time, we can begin noticing the body’s cues and slowly move forward from there.

In this session, I’ll teach you how to use nutrition to restore your nervous system and give practical tips on how to titrate into a new way of eating (again: not a diet!!).
