Nutrition For Your Kids: The Anti-Tantrum Diet

On February 10, 2026, I’ll guide a 60-minute class focused on the connection between what our kids eat and how they express themselves.

I’ll be teaching somatic techniques to connect to the emotional trauma that drives comfort eating, and we’ll explore how to nourish our bodies — and our children’s bodies — in a balanced way.

The connection between tantrums and nutrition

The truth is, tantrums don’t just occur in children. Adults have their own versions, too, when they’re overwhelmed or over capacity. Like adults, kids don’t act out because they’re bad but because their nervous systems are being propelled into fight or flight — often due to foods that stress out their bodies.

The types of snacks we feed our kids can have a lasting impact. Any snacks that cause glucose spikes will eventually cause their mood and dopamine levels to plummet. This is a major cause of tantrums for both children and adults.

I’ll be going into more detail during this session on your child’s developing brain and body through a somatic lens, how to prevent glucose crashes, and best practices when it comes to snacking.

What Is Food Therapy?

My first book, Food Therapy, will be published by Hay House in April 2026.

The book explores how nutrition and somatic practices can support trauma and stress recovery, emotional balance, and nervous system regulation.

From cravings to chronic stress to attention and focus, the way we eat is deeply tied to how we feel and function.

Until the book release, I will be offering FREE online Food Therapy sessions to the public for accessibility and curious minds. Join us for the next one on January 13th!

By removing processed foods and sugary foods, and replacing them with balancing whole foods, your children will experience less activation in the body, resulting in a more regulated system overall. You can elevate snack time with more fiber, low-sugar chocolate snacks, colorful veggies, and nut butters for better glucose levels and brain support.

The power of nutrition.

Meet Your Teacher

Luis Mojica

I’m a somatic therapist, nutritionist, educator, fan of beans, and founder of Holistic Life Navigation.

As the parent of a 10-year old, I also understand how nutrition impacts our children. I love helping people feed their kids in a fresh new way that leads to more capacity for everyone instead of less.

Outside of that, I teach people around the world how to find safety in their own bodies through somatic practices, nourishing foods, and self-inquiry.
