This immersive weeklong retreat at Blue Spirit Costa Rica explores how to move past fawning (people-pleasing) and into honest expression, as well as how to use food as an ally through stress and trauma recovery.

The week will integrate movement, sound, demos, group practices, and lectures with plenty of free time to enjoy the resort and its beautiful surroundings. Great for couples, individuals, and practitioners looking for a deeper dive into somatics and nutrition.

Fawning & Nutrition
Fawning is the automatic people-pleasing response where we say and do the opposite of what we really feel or need.
Living a life of fawning can result in stomach issues, the inability to self express, broken boundaries, and even binge eating to soothe yourself from the stress of endless people-pleasing.
In this retreat, Luis will integrate somatic psychology and nutrition to holistically address how stressful and traumatic life events show up in our bodies, our food habits, and our behaviors — and what we can do about it.

This retreat, which is just weeks before Luis’ first book — Food Therapy — hits the shelves, is a unique blend of workshops that will teach you how to better relate to yourself through practical somatic techniques, food education, and group somatic ceremonies.

Your Facilitators
Luis Mojica, SEP
Luis Mojica is the founder of HLN and the main facilitator for this retreat. He will offer teachings, lead somatic practices, facilitate Q&As, and do live demos.
Luis is a somatic therapist and global educator who teaches people how to find safety in their bodies through nutrition, self-inquiry, and somatic techniques.

Zach Kalatsky
Zach Kalatsky is a somatic therapist, bodyworker, and assistant in the HLN Embodied Masculinity Group. He’s been described as “like being held by a big rock with soft moss all over it.”
Zach will be there to provide on-demand emotional and somatic support to you throughout the week, as well.

Sample Schedule
10:00am – 12:30pm: Morning session
2:00pm – 6:00pm: Free time / Optional offerings
7:30pm – 10:00pm: Evening session
There will be plenty of free time to explore, go to the beach, lay by the pool, walk into town, sign up for spa treatments, rest/relax, and more.
