My name is Luis Mojica (pronounced Lew-Eace Mo-hee-ka). I teach people how to release stress & trauma through listening to their bodies. I am a trained somatic therapist, life coach, and whole food nutritional counselor. I show up to each client with unconditional love and understanding.
I'm not here to change you or judge you - I'm here to understand you so that you can understand yourself. Through that, comes a deep wisdom and love that can heal anything.
I show up to this work from a deeply personal experience with suffering and healing that suffering. The environment I create with clients is incredibly loving and empathic. There is no judgement, nor are there any expectations. I guide you through helping you get in touch with your truest self - and from there everything blossoms.

My story
(scroll down to *listen* to my story instead)
What are my credentials? I'm not a trained psychotherapist - by choice. I'm a trained Somatic Therapist, Herbalist, Holistic Nutritional Counselor, & Life Coach. Still, I credit my own life experiences, and how I healed from them, as the best training I could have ever received. My unique journey of being born into an unusual body and experiencing a multitude of traumatic events at a young age. To go to those depths of pain & physical illness and then reach such profound states of bliss and health are my credentials.
My story begins at birth. I was born with a hormonal condition that caused me to develop breast tissue and create a high amount of female hormones. By the time I was 10 years old I had developed breasts and was subject to every type of bullying, harassment, and assault imaginable by my peers. I internalized these concepts about myself and became extremely depressed, hopeless, and even suicidal.
I coped with all of my unprocessed trauma and absolute hatred of my body by overeating & shutting down. By 13, I became overweight, had high cholesterol, was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome & ADHD, was hypoglycemic, had severe anxiety & insomnia, my skin was covered in acne boils, and I had such severe asthma that I was on a nebulizer machine twice a day just so I could breathe.
Then, one day, everything would suddenly shift for the better. I had just turned 16 and realized I was able to write poetry and music. Having a safe space to connect to within myself & begin processing these unconscious feeling and memories began unlocking this incredible wisdom that, to this day, has changed my life. I suddenly understood why people suffered and how that suffering caused them to behave. I stopped taking all the attacks on my body and my character personally and I experienced, for the first time ever, a confidence & a compassion that created major transformation.
I began juicing, eating whole foods, and trying out every diet ever invented until my body found its balance. I lost 50 pounds, my acne disappeared, my asthma vanished, and all of my former diagnoses (said to be incurable) were completely gone. I relished in this newfound transformation and began helping others heal their bodies and minds through nutrition & counseling. Still, one nagging thing remained in my life: my chest.
I was 21 and I decided to go to a surgeon to have my breasts removed so I could have the appearance of the average male chest. This, I thought, was all I needed to be happy and accept myself. The surgery was a success. However, I still wasn't in love with myself or my body. I still walked around with the same physiology and beliefs: “my body is ugly”, “no one could want me”, “I cannot let people truly see me”. I walked around with bad posture, migraine headaches, and a low-level anxiety coursing through my chest and belly.
Until, one day, I stepped into the office of a Somatic Experiencing Therapist & began the journey of learning how to communicate with my body and release my trauma. My triggers began dissolving. Old belief systems were no longer physical truths. And my body was able to update to its current incarnation of health, safety, and beauty. Having surgery and hiding a part of myself wasn’t the answer - it was learning how to create safety within myself and, from there, this self love and vitality organically emerged.
It's been seventeen years since I began healing my trauma. Through my own experience, I’ve developed this unique & holistic approach to healing trauma & illness. I show up with experience, understanding and the knowledge & training in nutrition, herbalism, counseling, self-inquiry & somatic therapy to help you heal & release your stress and trauma through listening to your own body.
